MADE IN CANADA that tell you something? In addition to the pride that we should have to buy of the things manufactured here, this label is often discrete and even absent on most objects modelled, forged or cast, which it is ceramics, glass or metal. Crystal luminar to the cutlery, we can index several utility objects made here. The Point rouge gallery presents Damien GILLOT, French of origin, lately naturalized Canadian citizen, makes us rediscover these banal objects “made in Canada”.

Its approach in art begins at the Institute Saint-Luc in Belgium where he studies the fine cabinet work. Since 2008, this artist evolves in Canada, more particularly in Quebec, where it personalizes his artistic approach. Damien GILLOT recovers objects and pieces of wood in nature to give them a new life. Through his work, Damien presents an alternative to excesses of globalization.
